VBCCO Committees
Advocacy Taskforce
The Community Advocacy Taskforce ("CAT") works with members to
develop official CCO positions on critical issues affecting our member
organizations and the neighborhoods of Virginia Beach. CAT also advocates on
behalf of the VBCCO and our members with City and State officials.
Empowerment Taskforce
The Community EmpowermentTaskforce ("CET") provides
educational programs, workshops, and other resources to help members develop
and enhance their civic leadership skills. CET also coordinates the annual
Virginia Beach Neighborhood Conference in partnership with
the City of Virginia Beach.
Awards Committee
The Awards Committee develops the
Banquet Committee
The Banquet Committee organizes VBCCO's annual volunteer
recognition banquet held each March to honor the many civic and community
volunteers across the City who work so hard to make the Virginia Beach a
better community.
Communications Committee
The Communications Committee oversees internal and external
communications for VBCCO, including oversight of the newsletter a
Fundraising Committee
The Fundraising Committee was established to research,
identify and obtain funding sources to support VBCCO programs and services.
Marketing Committee
The Marketing Committee was established to research, identify
and obtain funding sources to support VBCCO programs and services.
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee is a standing committee that was
established to oversee members recruitment and retention. The committee is
also responsible for member orientation and encouraging member
participation.
Programs Committee
The Programs Committee coordinates and organizes VBCCO's
monthly general meetings and speakers.
