Our History

VBCCO was founded in 1959 as a way to ensure that all citizens had a voice in local governance.

VBCCO represents over 100 civic leagues which together represent over 40,000 residents throughout Virginia Beach.

VBCCO has played a central role in many important community issues, such as: Public Safety pay compression, Open Space Advisory Committee,

Workforce Housing Taskforce, Resort Advisory Commission, Clean the Bay Day, Public Voices on Redevelopment.
