VBCCO Election of Officers and Directors

Dates to remember:

October 25, 2023

The October Membership meeting is this coming Wednesday at the Bow Creek Recreation Center, 3427 Club House Drive beginning at 6:30pm. This is the last opportunity to nominate someone for an Officer or Director position in the next election. As of right now, the Secretary spot and the 2nd Vice-President spot remain without a Nominee. Two of the four Director positions are also without a Nominee. We need help running this organization! If you can attend a Board Meeting a month and a Membership Meeting a month, plus handle some Committee tasks, then lend us a hand. Educating our Civic Organizations and their members is a rewarding experience. Nominations will close at the end of the Wednesday meeting.

Nominations are being accepted now by the Nominating Committee Chairman, John Eason. Email your Nominee(s) to jeason913@verizon.net.

As with most Civic Leagues, a “slate” of Officers and Directors will be put forth by the VBCCO of candidates that are known to the VBCCO and that have expressed a desire to run. If you want to run for office, put your name in with the Nominating Committee Chair. You are not going to upset anyone at the VBCCO if you stand up to run for an open office or even one that is on the slate. We can jiggle things around and make room for everyone who wants to help.

And, if you only want to help a little, then a Committee spot is made for you!

Election of Officers and Directors (new date because of Thanksgiving) at the Bow Creek Recreation Center, 3427 Club House Drive beginning at 6:30pm. The current Officers and Directors were elected a few months ago as “interim” Officers just to get the organization standing back up on its feet. Now it is time to elect leaders for the next two years.

Each Member Civic Organization has two “electors” which are called Voting Representatives. The Voting Representatives will be voting on behalf of the Member Civic Organizations.

Some of the Rules:

1. Nominations are being accepted by the Nominating Committee Chairman, John Eason. jeason913@verizon.net
2. Further nominations or self-nominations may be made from the floor at the October General Meeting by any Member in Good Standing.
3. No write-in candidates.
